Resetting Charlie's battery

Copper takes electrical safety very seriously. Charlie is equipped with multiple safety systems to detect and monitor the battery and AC electrical systems as well as monitor for heat and other issues.

These safety systems can automatically disconnect the battery in some circumstances. The most common reason is the battery has been fully discharged and has disconnected to avoid damage.

Follow the instructions below to reset Charlie and get back to cooking.

Reset instructions

Remove the kickplate of your range by removing the two screws on either side with a Philips screwdriver. Then lift the kickplate off the range, revealing the battery reset button on the left.

Press and hold the button on the left for up to 30 seconds. Do not hold the button for longer than 30 seconds.

You may hear clicking sounds as safety systems engage. This is normal. If you hear clicking sounds after releasing the button, try again and hold for 30 seconds.

If the issue persists, please contact Copper support via the email address or phone number below and provide your range serial number which can be found on top of the oven door.
